Welcome To Our Communities

Resource-based communities are important characteristics of the geographic and economic landscape of Canada and many countries around the world.

These communities are traditionally small, homogeneous communities that have undergone an unprecedented phase of economic growth and subsequent increase in population typically due to the large-scale extraction of a natural resource. While resource-based communities may share several characteristics, each community is contextually different, each following a unique path to development and resiliency.
